Open-Mic Gets Hammered!

One of the things I love about going to Open-Mic nights at the folk club, is that I never cease to be amazed at the variety and strength of talent that comes along to participate. Geelong seems to produce an well of musical and entertainment talent that, at times, appears bottomless. The October Open-Mic was no exception, and once again a full evening of high quality entertainment kept the audience attentive all night.

The other aspect of the Open-Mic that has become obvious over the past few months is its popularity. Last last Open-Mic saw people travelling from as far afield as Ocean Grove, Ballarat and Areys Inlet and the board was full 15 minutes before kick off! Many thanks to all who participated, it was great to have you along. My apologies to those who came along after the board was full and missed out. I will do my best to give everyone an opportunity over time.

In order to get a little more organised, we're going to trial a pre booking option for potential performers - in particular Folk Club members. If you wish to book a spot for the next Open-Mic, simply send me an email with the name of your act and your preferred performance time. I'll work out a program from there. Remember this option is for Members only! I'll post a schedule on the Folk Club web site and you'll be able to check your performance time there. You will still need to be in attendance at kick off time though, to confirm your booking or it will be scratched.

Kick off is at 8:00 pm sharp. Last act timeslot is 10:30. We have a total of 11 spots available. Please plan for 10 mins max performance time. (Usually 3 songs/items)
