Apollo Bay Theme Concerts 2010
In keeping with the tradition set in 2008 The Apollo Bay Music Festival is presenting a themed concert with a difference. The first ever Woodstock took place in 1969, and to pay homage to the festival that started it all we sent the set lists from 1969 to our fine acts for 2010, and we are nothing short of thrilled with what has transpired.
The Baystock concert will be presented on Saturday afternoon, and indeed is shaping up to be a festival in itself with some excellent and at times perhaps outlandish interpretations of songs from Woodstock 41 years ago.
To whet your appetite for what is definitely going to be a concert with a difference here are the fine artists who have chosen to perform at Baystock 2010: Jeff Lang and Kerri Simpson will put their own spin on Jimi Hendrix' 'Voodoo Child', James Blundell will perform The Band's 'The Weight', Coby Grant will give us a new spin on the Creedence classic 'Bad Moon Rising', The Bastard Children will rip apart and bring back together a magnificent rendition of Joe Cocker's 'With a little help from my friends', Neilson Gough Quartet will delight with 'Blackbird', and Patron JVG with his band Aloi Head & The Victor Motors will bring the house down with The Who's 'Summertime Blues'.
But wait there is more! Paul Greene performs 'Hey Joe', Suzette Herft channels Joan Baez with 'Joe Hill', The Vaudevillains give us a rockabilly 'Foxy Lady', Caitlin Harnett will enchant with 'Swing Low Sweet Chariot', Rhys Crimmin will offer up 'Proud Mary', Dan Warner performs 'Long Black Veil', The Original Snakeskins sing 'Goin' Up The Country' like no other, Suitcase Royale reinvent the Arlo Guthrie classic 'Coming into Los Angeles', Nick Lovell will mesmerise us with 'I Shall Be Released', Bert's Boogie will rock with 'Jailhouse Rock', Celtic Storm will move us to tears with 'Amazing Grace' and The Lounge Hounds are still deciding!
The performance schedule and further acts will be announced the first week in February, but if you haven't already done so visit the artist page to see what magnificent artists will be performing at the 18th Apollo Bay Music Festival 26 - 28 March 2010.
